Sussex Barn

A Sussex stone barn. The client required dry internal wall surfaces to the bedroms at ground floor level, that were suffering from rising damp. However as the walls were constructed from local stone and brick combined with a thickness of over 18 inches it was questionable if a chemical DPC would be sucessful; and even if it was it could take over 2 years for the residual moisture to dry out. We installed a ventilated cavity drain membrane to the walls followed by an independent dry lining system with a plaster finish allowing the walls to be decorated just over 2 weeks after our works. Services such as electrics as well as plumbing and heating pipes were run between the cavity drain membrane and the dry lining system.
